BARBERRY HILL BRICK HOUSE

This Greek Revival brick house was designed and built by Amber Construction. On a completely raw piece of land at the end of a dirt road, this site presented myriad challenges, but the results speak for themselves. The clients, a family of five, wanted a remote country escape with all the charm and warmth of an old house and all the technology and convenience of a new house. We used salvaged doors, antique hardware and period-appropriate fixtures and fittings throughout to achieve this, while blending in a sleek, modern wing off the kitchen to make it feel like a contemporary addition to an old house. The basement features a music room, a home theater and a nanny suite with a separate entrance. The third floor has a large game room, full bath and office. While the house doesn't look huge from the outside, it has over 6500 sq. ft. of finished living space.
